1. Name of disease
2. Is it bacterial or viral?
3. Which body system does it affect? How does it affect this system (be as specific as possible)?

the common cold is a virus that affects your immune system and it also weakens your body so it is open to more deadly viruses. it spreads through contact with people coughing, sneezing or even talking to people can spread the virus. it can be prevented by cough and sneezing into your arm and washing your hands through out the day. it can be treated with rest and cold medicine.History might include contact with another person known to have a cold. Symptoms include runny nose with clear or yellowish discharge and nasal congestion or obstruction, sneezing, perhaps a dry cough, and mild fever.
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a lentivirus (a member of the retrovirus family) that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), a condition in humans in which the immune system begins to fail, leading to life-threatening opportunistic infections.
-Viral
-Immune System
-transmission are unsafe sex, contaminated needles, breast milk, and transmission from an infected mother to her baby at birth
-Diagnosed:Many HIV-positive people are unaware that they are infected with the virus.[98] For example, less than 1% of the sexually active urban population in Africa have been tested and this proportion is even lower in rural populations.[98] Furthermore, only 0.5% of pregnant women attending urban health facilities are counselled, tested or receive their test results
There is currently no publicly available vaccine or cure for HIV or AIDS.[106][107] However, a vaccine that is a combination of two previously unsuccessful vaccine candidates was reported in September 2009 to have resulted in a 30% reduction in infections in a trial conducted in Thailand.[108] Additionally, a course of antiretroviral treatment administered immediately after exposure, referred to as post-exposure prophylaxis, is believed to reduce the risk of infection if begun as quickly as possible.[
The flu is a virus that affects the respiratory system. It spreads from person to person through contact, or indirect contact. For example shaking hands with an infected person then touching your nose, eyes, or mouth. It can also be spread by sharing things such as a pen or pencil. The flu can be prevented by staying away from people who are sick, washing your hands more often, and not sharing thins with infected people. ALso by getting a flu shot. This is diagnosed by the usual symptoms of fever, chills, headaches, cough and body aches. The flu is treated by drinking plenty of fluids, taking over-the-counter medicine like Advil. If your doctor prescribes you can take Tamiflu or other flu mdeicines.

1. bird flu
2. viral
3. The lung is severely harmed, containing a disproportionate number of infected cells, included immune macrophages and T-cells. The new study points that lung damage is not the result of the virus replication alone; indirect effects, like soluble factors such as cytokine and chemokines, are important.
4. breathing. yawning. coughing.
5. shots and antibiotics.
1. strep throat
2. bacterial
3. immune system,it can cause strep to start sending out toxins and inflammatory substances to bring on the strep throat and other symptoms.
4. The strep bacterium is spread through direct contact with mucus from the nose or throat of infected persons or through the air by sneezing or coughing.
5. A doctor can often do a rapid strep test right in the office. He or she will use a swab to take a sample of the fluids at the back of your throat. It usually only takes about 5 minutes to find out if you've got strep throat. If you have strep throat, your doctor will either treat you with one antibiotic shot, or will give you a prescription to take antibiotics by mouth for about 10 days. If you take the shot, then you are done with the treatment and don't have to take more medicine by mouth. You will begin to feel better about 24 hours after treatment.

Acute Bronchitis.
Bronchitis can be a viral infection or a bacterial infection. However, it is usually a viral infection. It affects mostly the lungs and large air ways that branch off the trachea (bronchi). Bronchitis is the swelling in the passage of the windpipe, which in turn connect to the lungs. Bronchitis starts with the irritation in the bronchial tubes. Then, there is a formation of mucus. The mucus deposit blocks the air passage. This creates problems in breathing. Bronchitis is contagious, its usually spread when a person coughs or sneezes. Bronchitis is diagnosed usually by its symptons. Bronchitis its self is not usually treated, usually the doctor will perscribe medcine to help with the symptons. Such as a couch & sore throat.
