- Who should have access to personal genetic information, and how will it be used?
- Who owns and controls genetic information?
- How does personal genetic information affect an individual and society's perceptions of that individual?
I want to know your thoughts on each of these questions. In your blog response address each issue in 2-3 sentences- this is entirely your opinion...it can't be wrong! Just be sure to support your thoughts.

In my opinion, a person's genetic information should be private, and that, following counseling to explain the reason for and consequences of the test in question, individuals should be allowed to chose when and which tests are done and with whom the results are shared. Only tests of proven reliability and significance should be performed, and results should be interpreted and utilized by trained personnel. Tests for late onset diseases are usually restricted to persons old enough to understand the ramifications of the assay and the disease. I aslo agree that the data collected have improved diagnosis and treatment of some diseases, but this has also led to a series of ethical, privacy and security issues including concerns about what types of genetic testing are necessary, who should have access to the information after the testing is complete, and how that information should be used.
I think that a person's genetic information should b private. No one else should be able to look at your infortmation unless they are family, or a doctor. The personn who's genetic information it is should own and control it because it should only be their personlal business. They need to be able to make the decision on weater or not they want it to be shared with anybogy. Genetic information greatly affects an individual because it gives them pyhsical traits that society recognizes them by. It also affects how people view them because sometimes others do judge based off of looks.

1) i think that genetic information shouldnt have to be private. i believe that who you are is who you are and you should be pround of that. why would it matter if other people saw you genetic information, it would not change who you were.
2) our moms and dads control our genetic information, if they have blue eyes the chances are that you will have blue eyes and same for all the other traits.
3) your genetic information is like your identity in controls colors such as skin, eyes, hair how tall you can be and different features on your body. it can effect an individual on how other people fell about them.
1.I think that your genetic information should be private information unless needed for medical reasons.
2.I think our parents controll our genetics. Most of our physical traits we get from our parents. There very little chances that you won't have the same color hair or eye color as your parent. If one of those genes aren't the same as your parents it's probably from you grandparents genes.
3.Your genetic information is your personality and your physical features. Many people get judged by there looks so that how your genes affect society perception of you. But without these these genes you wouldn't have genes that make you you. Even if you don't have the best physical trait you should still be proud of the genes that you have.
1.) i think only docters & family members should be able to see your genetic information. other than that it should be private since noone should be able to see it.
2.) your parents own your genetic traits because their traits get passed down to you. if both your parents have brown hair, chances are you'll have brown hair. if you have blonde hair when your parents both have brown, your gene was probably passed down from past generations.
3.) this affects an individuals personality by how they feel about themselfs & how others see them. how they look effects how we feel. some people judge on physical features too.
1.) I personally think that genetic information should be kept private unless it has to do with medical reasons.
2.) Maybe the parents owns and/or controls the genetic information. Because they give us the genetic info that makes us who we are.
3.) I do think genetic information affect individual and how he or she behaves in the society because the genetic info gives them physical traits. The person may or may not like it based on their surrounding influences.
Doctors should have access to personaly genetic infomation, it should be used to help you if you have a disease. Parents control our genetic, well our whole family does. Traits and Genes get passed down, such as brown hair, green eyes, skin color, and height. Genetic infomation can affect an indiviual by letting them know about diseases they are likely to get.
1.doctors should have access to this information with the consent of the patient. without consent taking someones personal genetic info should be illegal.
2.the parents control the genetic info. They are the ones who give us our traits and they have complete control and no one but them should.
3.your genetics are how you look. it is going to effect you because people are going to judge you. Your looks are usually what a person sees first and that can have an impact on them.

1. I think that genetic information should be accessable by your family, doctors, and the government. Doctors should have access to your genetic information to help you incase you have a disease caused by a mutation inn your DNA. Also the government to have access to your personal genetic information to help solve crimes.
2. Even though you get your traits from your parents, I don't think that anyone can control your genetic information because the combination of genes and DNA are completely random.
3. Genetic information gives individuals their physical trait. It determines you hair color, eye color, and height. Society's ideal of having a certain shape and figure causes people to one to try changing their image in order to fit into society. However sometimes, your genetic makeup prevents that from happening.

1- I think that genetic information should be private and the only person that can see it are family members or doctors. Also, doctors should only be able to see it with your approval.
2- I think our parents control our genetics because most of our traits we get from our parents. So, if both of your parents have green eyes then there a extremely high chance you will to.
3- Genetic information will make your physical looks and that will be judged by other people. today, a lot of people first impression is what you look like on the outside so it affect the way you
In my opinion, I believe that a persons genetic information should be private. The only people that should be able to access a human beings genetic information are family members and more importantly doctors. Those people should also be the only ones able to control and own the genetic information. Genetic information can affect an individual and a societies perspective of them for many reasons. The main reason is because your genes are what make up your physical characteristics. How you look on the outside can affect how people think of you whether it be a positive or a negative thing.
I personally think that a persons genetic information should be kept private. The only people that should know are themselves, their family and a doctor. Before any doctor or family member shares this information with anyone the person should be notified and asked if it is okay to be shared. Many people in today's society are judged by the way they look, or act. Your genetic information is what makes up your physical appearance and your personality..today if you aren't considered "normal" people will make fun of you. An individual's genetic information should be kept private, in my opinion!

I think that personal genetic information should be kept private. The only people that should have access to this info is family and doctors. They have the right to know what is goin on with you, and you should know your own genetic information. Genetic information can affect an individual. The main reason is because your genes are what make up characteristics. This is how people will judge you, even if they do or dont know you. Also, that it is that persons own information that they might now want other people to see.

I think that it should be up to the person who can have acess to their genitic info. There isn't a doubt in my mind that the person should be entitled to their own information but they should also have control of if they get tested or not. After all it is their body and some people don;t feel comfortable with sharing it with anyone.
I believe that each person individually controls who sees there genetic information. Also, considering it is YOUR genetic information, you should control where and what it is used for.
I think that if all genetic info were shared certain people would be discriminated against because of a change or mutation of the genetic info.
I don't think anyone should have access to your info without your consent, and it shouldn't be used in any way with out asking you first.
p.s. whats up with the first post in like Japanese?
1. genetic information is yours, you can make it private or public whichever you want.
2. your parents control your genetic information because you have their genetic infromation combined
3. your genetic information controls your looks. some people judge other based on looks
Personally, the only person to have access to your genetic information is you. It isn't exactly something to share amongst others besides family and a doctor. Every individual should be in control of their own genetic information. You choose what you want to do with your health and body, therefore you should be in control of what happens with your genetic information. Your genetic information is what you are, what you look like, and how you're looked at as. It has a lot to do with appearance. I think no matter what, other people will always judge you on your appearance. You make no be what they say about you based on the genetic information, but that is what you are on the outside.
I think that you genetic information should be private an shouldn't be over the internet or in files where everyone can see it unless that person wants it to be everywhere. I believe that mostly doctors should be the only ones able to see this genetic information unless the person wants someone else to see it. I think that if it's your genetic information you should own it. It is only mostly for you to look at anyways. It can affect an individual because if it gets into the wrong hands then someone could definitely be in danger. Also, even if you trust people with it you never know if they will keep the genetic information a secret.
I think that only scientists and doctors should have access to people genetic information. I believe that the doctors should have immediate access to be able to help the person and the scientist should be able to have access to it with consent of the person the DNA that is being taken. Otherwise, it is an invasion of their privacy. i think that everyone owns their own DNA. it comes from their body and they should be able to control what happens with it. I think that the individual will be judged differently or excluded from things. There may be different groupings that form based on different genetic information.

1)I think that your genetic information should only be seen by parents, other family members or doctors.
2) Your parents control your genetic information because they're the ones who gave you your features. For example, eye and hair color.
3) A person's genetics can affect them because it determines what they look like. It also determines his/her features, like how tall they are or what color eyes they have. It can also have an affect on you because your peers can judge you and it might not be a good thing.
1.It should be kept private and only used for medical or personal reasons.
2.Our parents own and control our genetic information because they are the ones who our genes are made of.
3. By your physcial featrues.
- Our doctors should have the access to our genetic information. Also our parents, gardiens, and/ or families also should have access.
- The government and doctors should own and controlit. This is because if we don't know someone then they shouldn't have access to our information.
-The personal genetic information can effect the societty and life because you know what makes that person, them. it's complecated.
I think that access to the genetic information of humans should be left alone by anyone except strictly doctors, ones in the field of healing. This does not include mad scientists, or plastic surgeons. If a member is being born into to society we should love them as they are, not how they look. It is wrong to judge a person on their outer appearence, so it would also be wrong to change it. At the same time, if something like this could help us prevent birth diseases, it definitely could be useful. However, other then medical reasons, no one should know about the human genome, nor should anyone care.
1. I think that a person's genetic information should be private. If that person decides to release their gentic information to another person they should have to give permision to the people.
2. Our previous relatives control our genetic information. Sometimes certain traits skip a generation. That's why when people go to the doctors they ask for medical history of family not just parents.
3. A persons genetics determines how they look, and sometimes people may treat you different becasue of how you look. For example being blonde is genetics not how smart someone is, and being asian doesn't make you good at math. It is just genetics, people shouldn't judge people based on what they were born into.
1.I believe that only doctors and family members, as well as yourself, should be able to access you genetic information. Doctors could use it in the future for help with health.
2. You own your own and control your own genetic information. It is who you are and you control who knows about it and who doesn't.
3. Your genetic information contains things like your looks which many people judge to this day. If society found out you genetic information they could judge a person without even knowing them. They would judge just by their looks instead of their personality.
I think that a person's genetic code should be kept private. The person doctors and legal guardian's should be able to have access to the information. It is the exact identification to a person. If it is publicly known, there will be no privacy to the most exact aspect to someone's identity.
I think that genetic information should be private. It shouldn't matter to other people, and it's YOUR personal information. Your DNA is controlled by your parents before you're born. I think that the genetic information should stay belonging to the individual, because it is personal. Genetic information controls your appearance, such as eye, hair and skin color. The way you are percived by others may change after publicly releasing your DNA.
