The world population of humans continues to increase at an exponential rate. Do you believe humans follow the rules of natural selection? Site three reasons to support your answer. What does this mean for the future of our population?
No, I don't believe that humans have followed the rules of natural selection because we have learned to adapt to our environments with the use of artificial things like air conditioning, instead of adapting in other more natural ways. Also we try to make ourselves healthy by eating right and taking medicine if we need to, these modifications will never be permanently inserted in our genes, but we can help our offspring survive by doing the same thing for them. Finally we have more babies born than people dying, this shows that we are adapting in ways that do not involve heritable traits. For our future population, I think this means we will eventually grow overpopulated because of technologies that keep us from being put into the situation of survival of the fittest.
Some people have learned to adapt to varied enviorments naturally by eating light foods to remain normal weight within hot climates, however many like in texas have not. Sources say people of warmer or cooler climates differ in body heat tempuratures, meaning some make more than others... which applies to the theory of natural selection. Furthermore, many people are repoducing less due to economic reasons in which have affected the envorment, in terms of its cleanliness as well. Therefore, I am neutral toward the idea of whether or not the human population exactly follows natural selection or not.
If humans followed natural selection as the animals do we would be much more natural. Humans don't rely on their natural abilities as much as their abilities to produce artificial luxuries to make their lives easier. Three examples of luxuries that separate us from natural selection are our abilities to read and write. This allows us as an entire species to communicate with a push of a button or a click of a mouse making it efficient to buy and ship goods whcih is something animals arent able to do. Another thing is our ability to change the climate we live in (airconditioning and heat) lastly we can have acess to all types of foods all year round when in natural selection it is survival of the fittest.
No, I do not believe that humans have followed the rules of natural selection. Humans have luxuries, such as heat, air conditioning, and food stores instead of adapting in natural ways like animals do. If a person is hungry, they get in their car and drive to the food store; if we followed the rules of natural selection like animals, then we would not have cars to get around. We would also have to hunt for our food, the food store makes it easier for us because the food is already prepackaged for us. Humans also use heat and air conditioning, this does not follow natural selection because this is just an artificial thing, although it is nice it is only like an added bonus. I believe that in the future, we will have an overpopulated nation, because all of the people being born. The reason for this is because, of all the luxeries provided which keep us away from living by the rule "survival of the fittest."
No humans do not follow natural selection. For one reason is medicine. We can now cure many diseases that animals that follow natural selection can not. Also medicine helps almost everyone stay alive and healthy. Another reason is technology, we have so many things that every other animal dosent have. Simple things like farming food and not competing for something to eat for diner. Also television and newspapers that tell us other things that are going on around our community. Instead of getting us into trouble. Lastly that prevents us from natural selections is communication we can tell each other how to do things and how to stay alive. We can tell each other what is wrong with us and whats wrong so we can five it. What this means for the human population is that our population will continue to rise until we have to compete and it turns into survival of the fittest.
No, i do not believe humans follow the rules of natural selection. If we followed these rules to survive, the human race would become uncivilized and more animal-like. The first reason we don't live by natural selection is because we don't struggle for existance like animals do. if we competed for food and other necessities of life, it would be more of a barbarack act of humans. The second reason is because we do not descent with modifications. Within out dna mutations are made that are passed down, but they do not come from other species. Finally, we have learned to adapt to life and live longer by material things, not inherited traits. I think this means for future population, it will continue to flow through the circle of life, just as it does now. If it is working fine in time today, i don't believe we should be concerned about the future.
No, i do not believe that humans follow the rules of natural selection. One reason is because we, as humans have medical assistance that help the weak survive. We have medicine and antibiotics that heal and or cure the ones who may not survive. Another way is that the government helps out with healthcare. If medication is not affordable for someone, they wont just die; the government will provide help. A final way humans do not follow the rules of natural selection is that if we live in an area where the food supply or housing is low, we can move to another spot where its more affordable with more options. Because we dont follow the rules, one day the world will be over populated.
No i dont't follow the rule of natural selection. In natural selection animals genes change to fit the enviroment. Human genes never change we just have technology that helps us survive. Such as medicine thats not a gene that we're born with or will ever be born with. It is just something that helps survive. I think in the future the world will become over populated. I don't think like millions of people are going to die because i think we're have technology that will help with food problems. But some people may starve to death and people will realize not to reproduce as much and then the poppulation will decrease.
No, because in today's world, humans have more control on the natural aspects of life. For example, in an environment such as a safari, wild animals like the zebra would have to fight for their food or starve. Whereas, humans have the ability to grow as much or as little food as they want quicker. In the agricultural field, we use machines and technology to plow our food and process it for faster production. We can even control the size of the food by modifying them genetically. Another example is when that zebra is attacked and injured. Nowadays injury is no problem for us, because we have medicine like antibiotics to treat cuts. One last example is surgery. In the animal kingdom, mutations are not preventable. You can find seven-legged pigs and in the wild, that animal would not be able to fix it no matter what. That pig will most likely not survive in the wild. Now, compared to humans, if we have a birth defect that causes us to be blind, we can have a doctor to fix it with eye transplants. So as you can see, humans don't allow for natural occurances to happen. We change most natural things to adapt to our standards. If humans are like this now, I predict future generations to be like Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 where everyone relies completely on techology to get by.
I do think that humans follow the rules of natural selection because all of the traits that we have are probably due to many years of natural selection. Humans learning how to create new technology was probably because of natural selection. Creating new technology is one for humans to adapt to their environment. Natural selection helped the smartest humans to survive and probably this probably helped us to adapt. Also, humans have caring nature. This behavioral trait has probably been passed on because most of the babies that survived were cared by past organisms that learned to take care of their offspring which increased their survival rate. Since the offsprings that survived continued to reproduce, this behavior was also passed on. Finally, humans are just organisms that evolved from other organisms. A species evovled into humans. That means that natural selection was involved in creating humans. In the future, humans might be end up dying or surviving depending on natural selection. Eventhough technology can help us to live longer, it won't be able to prevent everyone from dying. The human race probably become extinct someday just like other organisms.
I do not believe humans follow the rules of natural selection. It should be survival of the fittest and humans do not all follow this rule. People with fatal injuries would be left for dead in the wild but we have medicines to help them. We also don't change to the world. We manipulate it for our likings and needs. Foods can be brought from anywhere to anywhere at any time. This means our population will grow and grow until it reaches its' peak. Then when resources are scarce including food and medicine the population will quickly fall.
No i don't believe that humans follow natural selection because we can adapt to out surroundings by changing the surroundings with our resources. Also we try to be the strongest we can be by training and staying in physical shape. Finally we have a higher chance to reproduce than other organisms because we are not hunted like a zebra, ect. and more people ae born than people die so our population is always increasing.
no, i don't think humans follow the rules of natural selection. we have adapted to our enviroment only with the help of technology. but with use medicine to stay alive and healthy so we can reproduce. also we are able to fix mutations most of the time with treatments and surgery. lastly we are able to communicate all over the world using many things. in the future, i believe that the world will be an over populated society depending greatly on technology.
No, I do not believe that humans have followed the rules of natural selection. This is because we we have learned to adapt to our enviorment and don't have to fight for survival.
In my opinion population of humans does not follow natural selection. We do have deadly diseases, however we treat them so people dont die. In nature, the 'weak' people with said disease would die and not reproduce. Also, humans look out for one another, we have soup kitchens and such set up so people dont starve. Futher more, Humans aren't pray to any animal per say, so more people would survive in a population, then a mouse in a population of mice.
For the most part people do not follow natural selection. Our population is so strong in mind that it is hard to be weaker. Also, we know so much science that we find a way for the weak to exist. Humans are also so in connection with eachother we adapt very easilly. Because humans are so strong minded means that we will be around for a lot longer than any other species. If a meteaor hits or any other drastic event happens we can predict it and take precautions.
Yes i do believe that humans will start to follow rules of natural selection. The reasons being is that we will eventually run out of food, meaning futhermore the strongest/smartest will get the food or water. Another reason is that we will run out of space to live in,no space is very bad. Lastly no resources like oil or money and stuff like that. The future of our population will decrease in size and numbers vastly
I don't believe that humans follow natural selection. This is because we find ways to survive and we've adapted to the environment that we live in. For example, we use antibiotics/medicines so we can cure sicknesses. This will help prevent us from a decreasing population. Another thing is that we have supermarkets, so unlike animals we don't have to compete and fight for our food. We can just buy it at the store, which means we don't have to live by the rule "Survival of the fittest". Lastly, we use science! Scientists and others have learned to predict weather conditions. This means that we can be cautious about how the next day is going to be, which is why most people watch the weather channel. We can see how the weather is going to be for the next day and decide what to do. All of this can help our future population. Nick Lin
No I dont believe that humans have followed the rules of natural selection for many reasons. One reason is that people have created artifical objects for us to use so that we can adapt to our environment such as heating and air conditioning. Animals however are basically left to there own devices when it comes to keeping there family warm. Another reason is that we have a advance study of medicine to help cure people with fatal diseases or injuries. Animals in the wild are left to die if they get attacked by a predator or another animal because they dont get the proper treatment that we do. Another reason is that we dont have to fight for our survival. In our environment there is a surplus amount of food, water and shelter for everybody to use and enjoy. In the wild however, animals have to fight off other animals to get food and space for there offspring to use.
I do not believe that humans follow natural selection because of how much we take care of our children, even if they have unwanted mutations. If a child is born with down syndrome, they will not reproduce, but they still live out their life. also, if any thing is wrong on the outside, it usually can be easily fixed with surgery. Diseases like diabetes would have ceased to exist if natural selection had been followed, however because of modern treatment, diabetes patients can b=live out fairly normal lives and still reproduce, which wouldn't have been possible if not for artificial medicines.
No, i don't think humans follow the rules of natural selection. we really adapted to our enviroment only with the help of technology. We are able to communicate all over the world. This is because we have also learned to adapt to our enviorment and don't have to fight for survival.
I believe we do not follow the rules. This is because we still have many people dying every day. The fittest people are not always the ones to survive it's the lucky. We will not follow natural selection until we have to fight for survival. This means for our population that more people have to be born the are dying to mantain an increase in human population.
No,I don't believe that humans follow the rules of natural selection. First of all we can easily get the food we want by simply going to the store and buying it. Whereas in the wild you hunt for your food and it is the survival of the fittest. Also, humans have the ability to cure or even prevent diseases that are genetic, therefore the disease is not being killed off like in the wild, but it is still being passed on in genes. Finally,we have a variety of ways to communicate to help aid in our survival. I believe that the human population will become so large that it will have to start decreasing this is all because we don't follow natural selection.
No, i do not believe that humans follow the rules of natural selection because we have leaned to adapt to our environment. we have suntan lotion for the suns harmful rays during the summer. clean water and food to eat and stay healthy. And we have clothes to cover up and keep warm in the winter. this means for the future of our population that we have to constantly adapt and change as our environment changes.

By doing this, we are not letting the weaker groups become extinct; instead they continue to live and reproduce. If humans lived by the rules of natural selection, we wouldn't be living up to our intelligence level. Since we have the capability to invent life saving technology, we use it to our advantage. Lastly, we adapted to our environment relying on the help of inventions such as heavy clothing in the winter, and lighter clothing in the summer. I think the human species as a bright, long future ahead. Eventually, after a very long period of time, humans will have a food supply shortage since so many people are being born; more than the number of those who are dying.
Humans have not been around long enough to see the results of natural selection In like another 1000 years we mite see isolation. There a re behavoiral difrrences but not as much as in animals. Humans also have not evolved that much.
No I do not believe humans follow the rules of natural selection. As new diseases are studied and treated people survive, when naturally they wouldn't have. This then enables the unhealthy genes to be passed onto next generations and the cycle continues. The population increases because less people are dying because of natural causes are prevented.
