Please read all instructions on this blog before beginning the activity. Most of this assignment's work will be submitted to me on a separate piece of paper (Friday 4/16), but you will also be reqiured to comment on this activity on the blog.
Click on the link for the Univeristy of Utah Learn Genetics Page: http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/content/begin/dna/
Click on "Transcribe and Translate a Gene" in center box.
Before beginning the activity, read ALL of the information on the page and answer the following questions on a separate piece of paper (answer in COMPLETE sentences):
1. What is a gene? What does each gene encode?
2. How many genes does the human genome contain?
3. How does your cell "read" your genes? What is the outcome of these processes?
4. What is the Universal Genetic Code?
NOW, follow the directions to complete the activity. When you have completed the activity, write the order of amino acids for the protein you created.

i thought that this was a good activity. i found it very helpful in acually seeing the protein being formed and how we got to find the amino acid.
i found this activity helpful. i liked how this made me understand what we're learning better & reviewed the concept.
I did find this activity helpful in having a visual aid to understand the process of transcription and translation. At first iw as a little confused, but after finishing the activity I felt a lot better!

I thought that this activity gave a good visual description and was very helpful. I found this activity helpful because no I have a better understanding of how to transcribe and translate a gene.

I found this activity very helpful and the visual made it easier to understand. Now I can understand how to transcribe and translate a gene a lot better!
This was a great method to review how to create an Rna strand, for there are reminders appearing as you make mistakes, and learn, rather than typing randomly and then dumbfounded by numerous errors. Furthermore, I also liked seeking the answer to the questions independently because personally, seeing the information and then writing it down helps compound the ideas into my memory.
very helpf ul help me understans about amino acids and codons more.

I enjoyed this activity. I thought this was helpful because it gave me a better visable look at the information.
this activity thingy is cool and sorta fun, it helped understand what i have to do now.
i found this activity helpful in visualizing what is actually taking place.
this activity was very helpful to me because it was more clear seeing it.
i thought that this activity was helpful. it helped me practice transcription and translation. it also was helpful because, i got to practice what bases match up with one another.

I think that this activity was very helpful and helped me understand the process of transcription and translation.
i did not like it and i did not think it was helpful because i finished it very quickly and i think it was too easy.
I thought that this activity was very helpful. It showed us how the protein was being formed. It was very descriptive too and i fully understand the concept.

I did like this activity. =) It helped me understand transcription and translation a lot better! DOing this activity and actually seeing it happen helped me. Thanks!
Carly Greer.
I thought that the activity was helpful. It helped me visualize the actual process of translation better.

I thought the activity was very helpful because i was able to see the RNA being made, and how the amino acids correspond. It helped me better understand the process.
I thought that this was a good activity. It was helpful seeing what was happening rather then doing it in your head
i found this activity good because it was helpful to see the visual of the protein being formed. now i understand the process better.
I liked it,I thought the activity plainly explained the protein process. Though i thought it was a little confusing at first it became very easy.
I found the activty helpful, it helped me more fully understand how creating a protein happens
I liked this activity because it helped me understand the subject more by interacting with it and having a clear visual.

I thought it was helpful to be able to see the process in front of you, and it was fun and easy to do.
I think this activity is helpful because I got a visual on how protein was created and helped me understand transcribing and translating much better.
i found the activity helpful because it was great way to explain protein synthesis and i understood the idea more theroughly afterwards
i wish i knew what to do.
I did not find the website that helpful.
I thought that the activity was extremely helpful. It definitely gave me a better understanding of the process of translation and transcription.
I found this activity helpful and easy to understand. The website was interactive and easy to follow making the information more understandable.
I think it was a very good way to give visualization to the processes. I did find it helpful because it walked me through the processes and it helped me understand what is going better.
